We begin with a conversation to understand your goals and timeline. We’ll explain the Hicks Cazenave process, review sample projects & budgets, and answer your questions. 

A walkthrough of your space with our design team to assess layout, architecture, and lighting 

In-person meeting at our studio to review the scope of your project, some initial ideas & materials, and depending on where we are in the project, a sketch of floor plans. 

We issue a formal Design Agreement outlining your project scope, our hourly billing structure, and a retainer to reserve time on our calendar. We begin work upon receipt of the signed agreement and payment. 

We begin with layout studies and material palettes that encompass the tone and direction of your project. If you’ve already chosen selections or sourcing, we’ll integrate those items. 

Approved concepts are translated into drawings and documentation your contractor or fabricators can use. This may include elevations, custom millwork, finish schedules, and lighting plans. Note: One round of revisions is included per area; additional refinements are billed hourly. 

We finalize all interior finishes, fixtures, and furnishings. Presentations - whether shared digitally or in person - include item specifications, quotes, and selections for your review and approval. Once approved, we proceed to purchasing. 

We handle ordering, tracking, and vendor coordination through our network of trusted trade partners. This includes follow-up, lead time tracking, and resolving any issues that may arise. You’ll receive regular updates on order status and delivery timelines. 

Our team meets regularly with vendors, contractors, artisans, etc to ensure interior and architectural designs go accordingly. All construction-related communication is billed hourly.

The best part! Once construction is complete and all furnishings have arrived, we coordinate and manage the final installation. This includes furniture placement, art hanging, window treatments, and styling with accessories and finishing details. Time to raise a glass!
