Seamless transition in a stylish, functional haven
This Mill Valley home, nestled among the Redwood trees, is perfect for cozy weekends with loved ones. We collaborated with the original architect to remodel the structure for this project. Modernizing this home and opening up its various spaces was a treat.
Our client – a family – enjoys entertaining. We kept that in mind while integrating design elements like a custom game table for the living room with inlay leather and a bar adorned with dark, edgy marble.
They did not want white walls, so we added a subtle tone to the walls in each space. As for the color palette, we incorporated serene hues like pale blues and lavenders, especially in the kitchen and family room. We experimented with earthy, natural tones to match the surrounding woodsy environment. We crafted a plush velvet headboard in a deep eggplant for the primary bedroom.
Additionally, lighting was crucial for this family. We brought in soft lights and playful, almost see-through light fixtures to make every room feel open.
We loved infusing pops of personality, such as the built-in bookshelf showcasing our client’s cherished treasures and the purple Saarinen chairs in the dining room.
